Well, it looks like another one of my beloved food shows is profiling another Indianapolis establishment.  First, it was Man v. Food, then Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives and now it is Restaurant: Impossible.  Robert Irvine is one of my favorite Food Network personalities and although Restaurant: Impossible is a clear rip-off of Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares, it is still a good show.  In a nutshell, Robert and his team get two days and $10,000 to makeover a struggling restaurant.  That’s the premise of the show.

In tonight’s episode, they’ll be profiling the Snooty Fox.  Here’s the description of the episode according to Food Network’s website:

“Robert is racing to Indianapolis, IN to help Snooty Fox, a struggling English pub-style restaurant. It’s been a mainstay in the city for 28-years but because of their aging clientele, it likely won’t last another 8-months. Robert is underwhelmed by the British-influence and overwhelmed by grime and food safety issues. The first thing he does is close the kitchen down. But there are bigger fish (and chips) to fry when the head chef quits with no notice. With two days to get this place back on its feet, Robert kicks into high gear – interviewing new chefs, overhauling the décor and updating the menu. With time quickly running out, trouble with the design keeps everyone wondering if the Snooty Fox is ever going to run again.”

So, if you want to see an old-fashioned English pub-style restaurant get the makeover by Robert and his team, tune into the Food Network tonight at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time.

Update:  Here is the Indianapolis Star’s story on the episode.

Matt’s Bar
3500 Cedar Ave South
Minneapolis, MN 55407
http://www.mattsbar.com

I’ve written on this site ad nauseum about how seemingly all I do is watch Food Network or food shows on the Travel Channel.  Because of this, I’ve seen countless shows on both channels that like to profile the “Juicy Lucy” war in Minneapolis.  I’ve seen this on Man v. Food, Food Wars, and Chowdown Countdown, among others.  For those of you that have never seen this or heard of a “Juicy Lucy”, check out the profile at Wikipedia to read what it is and see how the battles over the burger are fought in Minneapolis.  I was in Minneapolis for a seminar recently and since I’d seen so much of this on television, I decided to give one of these places a shot.  Research told me that my hotel was closest to Matt’s and since it has been rated the best multiple times, this was my choice.

What I Got:  Jucy Lucy; $5.50.  And yes, the misspelling is correct.  Check out the Wikipedia history for why.

As you can see from the blurry picture of the menu above (it’s hard to not look like a dopey tourist and take a decent picture), Matt’s Bar is a place that has been in business for quite sometime.  It’s a small place and when I arrived just BEFORE the dinner rush, I was still the seventh person in line, had a twenty minute wait and was fortunate to squeeze into a spot at the bar.  By the time I left when the dinner rush was happening and the line was twenty deep on a Sunday night.  The point is, if you are ever going to go, don’t expect to be seated quickly.  Also, since it takes time to melt cheese inside a burger, don’t expect the food to come out quickly either.  Now, onto the burger…

As you can see, there’s nothing fancy about this burger.  It’s basically two thin patties smashed together with a pile of American cheese melted in the middle served on top of a store bought bun and then wrapped in wax paper.  You don’t even get a plate or a glass for your Diet Coke, so Matt’s is clearly a no frills type of place.  The burger is topped with a couple of pickle slices and you have the option to get grilled onions on top of your burger and I took advantage of that.

Taste-wise, this was nothing special.  Honestly, it tasted like a bigger and thicker White Castle hamburger with melted cheese in the middle that was also exceptionally greasy.  I’m not completely against that since I’m one of the crazies that like White Castles, but this burger tasted so similar to those that I can’t classify this in the “special” category like so many television shows and also the residents of Minneapolis have done previously (they’ve won multiple local best burger awards and have them posted on the wall).

Would I Buy It Again?  I’ll probably won’t be in Minneapolis anytime again soon, so I really can’t give a fair answer on this one.  If I was in Minneapolis, I’d have to say no.  I’d try some of the other Juicy Lucy options first before I ever made a return visit here.

Oh yeah, I’ve been holding off on this entire time (was the suspense killing you?).  When I first placed my order, one of the locals sitting next to me at the bar told me the best way to eat the burger is to take a bite (careful, the cheese is scalding hot!), then hold it vertically and squeeze it so that the cheese oozes out so that you can get the full experience.  So, without further delay, here is your food porn for this post…

To sum the Jucy Lucy all up by comparing to White Castles again, if I was a Minnesota resident, I would eat it if I was in the neighborhood.  but that’s about it.  If I was a tourist like I was, it’s worth a visit to say you’ve done it and to have had the experience, but other than that, there’s no reason to go back unless you really, really like the interesting environment.

Gray Brothers Cafeteria
555 S. Indiana St.
Mooresville, IN 46158
http://www.graybrotherscatering.com/

My first review on Gray’s Borther’s was pretty rough and well deserved.  If you watched Man v. Food and read my rant, you would easily realize that I am still on my soapbox.  This was a lunch meeting with a client and they wanted to go to Gray’s Brothers.  I was trapped.

I couldn’t believe the line for this joint.  A Wednesday lunch and they were about forty people deep.  Keep in mind this is cafeteria food, so it moved quickly.

What I Ate: Chicken and Noodles, Corn, Green Beans; around $8.

Last time I had dark meat chicken, mac and cheese and corn.   I kept the corn on the plate as I felt like I needed some veggies to add to my chicken and noodles.

The chicken and noodles should’ve been named noodles and chicken.  I would say that it was 85-90% noodles with very little dark meat chicken sprinkled in.  However, it tasted pretty damn good.  I am not sure if it hit the spot since this warm meal balanced out the six degree winter, but it was pretty tasty.  The noodles were homemade and with a little salt and pepper and it was pretty good.  There was so much sauce on the plate, I had to eat it with a spoon though.  I would appreciate if they didn’t flop everything on the plate because all three sections were trying to get it on with each other.

Green beans had a little bit of bacon in them and the corn wasn’t bad either.  Nothing interesting to report here.

Would I Buy It Again?  Upgraded from “No Way!” to “Maybe.” The food wasn’t bad, but I walked away wondering why people wait fifteen minutes in line for a weekday lunch.  The chicken and noodles needed a lot more chicken in it, but if you are looking for comfort classics to balance out the freezing cold Indiana winter, you can get your fix at Gray Brothers.

Los Reyes De La Torta
9230 N 7th St
Phoenix, AZ 85020

Man v. Food in Phoenix was an episode in the most recent season.  This was a featured segment, but not the eating challenge of the episode.

Just like any other taqueria food, I love tortas.  I have had my fair share of them, that is for sure.  When I saw this episode and knew that I was going to Phoenix in August, I had to give it a try.

What I Got:  Del Rey, $7.95.  Beans, breaded beef, two egg omelet with chorizo, ham, pork, tomato, guac, cheese and a hot dog.

There were two guys sitting next to me that were pretty big dudes and they both ordered it and finished only half, so I was a little bit worried.

The sandwich was huge…Carnegie Deli huge.  At first bite, I liked it quite a bit.  The breaded steak and the pork were standouts.  The bread was a little too wimpy and the sandwich struggled to stay together in my hands.  I polished off the first half with no problems.  After a few bites on the second half, I decided to start knife and forking it.  I found the hot dog to be absolutely useless and I pulled that off my second half.

I left about a quarter on the plate mostly because I was tired of eating it, but I could’ve finished it.  The torta was served with Ruffles, which I thought was kind of strange.  They didn’t offer chips and salsa service.

Would I Buy It Again? No.  (yes, I changed it from the RSS feed this morning) The Del Rey was good, but not great.  Considering the amount of Mexican restaurants in Phx, I think that I would try something different.  Plus, I’d rather have a torta that was more focused than one that throws everything in the kitchen on some bread and calls it a sandwich.  Even though the owner is from Mexico City, I felt it wasn’t that authentic.  My wife enjoyed a grilled chicken torta, but she didn’t love her meal either.

This however has confirmed that Man V Food recommendations (as a hole) are not very good. It will probably be my last time that I search out a MvF location.

However, the place is doing a lights out business. Standing room only the entire time I was there, so they have to be doing something right.

Los Reyes de la Torta on Urbanspoon

I was excited to hear that Man v. Food was coming to Indy.  I have watched every show since the show started and I would easily say that I am a fan.  However, they really dropped the ball on Indy…or should I say crashed and burned since they tried to reference the race…at every turn.  Let’s take a close look at every segment.

Edwards Drive-In
I have been there pre-blog and there is a reason why I haven’t returned.  Let’s reference this post by our dear friend The Tenderloin Connoisseur.

He gave the tenderloin a 3/5 and said that he wouldn’t drive across town for it.  Just like every review on his site, I agree 100%.  Also, why would they freeze a fresh cut tenderloin?  The term “Frozen Pork Fritter” is a dirty word in these parts and it’s almost as bad as “Kelvin Sampson.”

With that being said, WouldIBuyItAgain.com will promise to review or make a segment called “Tenderloin of the Month” from here on out.  I would like to restore some confidence back in our state sandwich.

[Editor's Note:  We will run our first Tenderloin of the Month review on Monday.]

Grays Brothers Cafeteria
Here is my review.

I understand the story of telling about a down-home-cafeteria-style-middle-America-meal, etc. (good idea).  However…MEATLOAF?  We are now known for f’ing meatloaf?!?!

Not to mention, if you are going to be on TV mixing meat, wear gloves!  The strawberry pie was lame too…strawberries with…a strawberry glaze and homemade whipped cream.  One guy on the show said that he drove twenty miles for the pies…really?!  So you are telling me that you can’t make that pie?!  Trust me, it is easy as…pie!!

Bub’s Burgers & Ice Cream
Here is my review.

For two years, I literally lived one hundred yards from Bub’s…and I went there ONLY four times.  In one of those times, both IndianapolisEater and I easily conquered The Big Ugly (one burger each).  Despite that, I am not going to really rip on this choice.  There are very few eating challenges in this city and The Big Ugly is the king.  Bub’s gets a good amount of hype and is in the perfect location.

However, I am disappointed in Adam’s effort. The burger patty is 22 ounces pre-cooked, he completed 2.25 burgers.  That is three pounds of meat and maybe and extra pound of toppings and bread.  LAME!!!  This is coming from a guy that has ate a four pound milk shake (in addition to a large sandwich with it) and consistently eats five pounds plus.  To me, this is him just not giving a shit and wanting to get out of town.  I have never seen him perform so poorly at a challenge.

Therefore, I am starting a challenge to the beloved WIBIA army. Eat more than Adam at Bub’s…and you will get your picture on the blog and a special Hall of Fame section solely for you.

In a weird way, I am disappointed in Man v. Food.  It was a poor attempt to showcase this city.  Honestly, I think Kendra “Having a Baby” showcased the city better than Man v. food.

Next week, I’ll show you a review of another place that Man v. Food visited that Adam was reallly excited about (Phoenix episode).   I have been to five Man v. Food restaurants and I’ve liked only one of them quite a bit (Ike’s Place in San Francisco).

All in all, I know that I am playing arm chair quarterback here (race theme = back seat driver), but there was a better story to tell about the city.  How about the Tenderloin at Big Daddy’s (S. Meridian), Shrimp Cocktail at St. Elmo’s (spicy tradition) and then wrap it up with Bub’s?

Rant over.

The Big Donut
3510 South East Street
Indianapolis, Indiana 46227

A couple months ago, I had read in the paper that Man v. Food was taping in Indianapolis and I shared it with wibia.  He then went and did a little digging to try to find out where the show would be taping on the chance that we might want to check it out.  A little birdie told him that this was one of the places, so we decided to check it out prior to the episode airing.  In my search, I found that there’s virtually no information on this place on the web with the exception of this Facebook group.

As I checked out the Facebook group, I found that they had a namesake donut called the “Big Donut” and as you can see from some of the pictures and videos on the page, it is quite large.  After seeing everything there, I called down to the store and started asking questions where I came to find out that the namesake “Big Donut” is about as big as a dinner plate.  After chuckling for a few seconds, I was then told they had another donut called the “Monster Donut” that is as big as a large pizza and that caused me to laugh hysterically.  We had to check this out.  So, on a suffocatingly hot and muggy Sunday morning, wibia, Mini-wibia, Smokin DB and I decided to check it out.

As you can see from the two above pictures, The Big Donut is your old-fashioned, family run donut shop operation.  It’s light on ambiance, but heavy on “character” (translation:  aged).  It also lacks air conditioning and it was hotter in the shop than it was on the outside (it was roughly 85 degrees with 1000% humidity outside at the time).  At one point, Smokin DB joked that he never thought he’d need to go outside in the middle of July to cool down.  That’s how hot it was.

Anyway, when we were checking out the donut case we did see the namesake Big Donut…

I don’t have anything that shows the scale of these things, but I will confirm that they were as big as a dinner plate.  As tempting as it was to get one of these, that’s not the reason that we were here.  We were here for the MONSTER DONUT.

What WE Got:  Monster Donut; $9.50 for glazed yeast version (customization is available for an increased charge).

I was able to get a Diet Pepsi can into this photo to get some sort of size reference point and as you can see, this thing is very large.  Being the nerd that I am, I brought a tape measure and I can confirm that the diameter of the donut was twelve inches.  LOL.

In terms of taste, this thing wasn’t just some sort of oddity that was funny to look at and tasted terrible.  It was actually tasty, but nothing to really write home about.  It was flat  in shape and wasn’t puffy like a small glazed yeast donut is, but it was nothing bad.  I would actually compare its consistency to that of a cinnamon roll.  Funny thing was that it wasn’t heavy like cinnamon rolls can be from time to time, so that was nice.  Frankly considering the size of this donut and the fact that this thing would take up an entire fryer I’m guessing, I think they did a good job in its preparation.

Would I Buy It Again? The novelty of the donut was funny and I’m glad I got to see it, but there is no way I would ever drive to this place again.  Like I said, the donut was just like any other glazed yeast donut, so there is nothing to lure me in there.  wibia also got two other donuts just to sample and they were run of the mill donuts as well, so the only reason to hit up this place is if it was in your neighborhood and convenient.

It’s too bad too, because a donut shop that makes you want to drool is worth driving for and I would do that for an occasional treat.  Unfortunately, this shop is not that type of place.  I wish the owners luck and hope they continue to run a nice operation, but this place is not for me.  I guess I’ll have to try Long’s, The Donut Shop or somewhere else in my quest for a donut that makes me drool

On the Man v. Food note, if the show really did go here, I’m going to be pretty upset because this would give a bad view of Indianapolis.  It’s not a bad place, but its not the place you want to be showing of to the world because there has to be somewhere better.

-IndianapolisEater

P.S.  FYI, we didn’t finish the donut, but came close.  LOL.

Big Donut Store on Urbanspoon

I don’ t think it is a secret around here that our staff likes to eat.  I mean, why else would we have a food blog?!  DUH!  Anyway, one of the occasional by-products of eating and competitive human nature are eating challenges.  You see them all the time on television, online, at your local bar, etc.  There’s even a website called EatFeats in our blog links that updates the news and challenges throughout the country.

Since Man v. Food debuted a new season this past Wednesday (outstanding show) and the Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest is in a few weeks on July 4th, I thought it would be kind of fun to open our own little corner of the blogosphere to see what kind of eating challenges our readers and staff have done.  These don’t have to be “professional” challenges per se, as I’m interested to hear some of the challenges that you’ve had amongst your friends as a bet or a “I bet you can’t eat…” type of thing.  My only request is that they invovle either quantity of food (example:  a two pound cheeseburger) or spice of food (example:  super hot chicken wings) and were part of a competition against at least one other person (or thing in the case of a restaurant).

Since I’m the author of this post, I’ll start with some of the things that I’ve done in my “challenge” history:

*Fast Freddy’s Gorilla Burger:  This was at a now defunct restaurant in a town next to my hometown and I did it when I was roughly 16-17 years old.  The burger was two pounds of ground beef and every topping imaginable (avocados, tomatoes, onions, bacon, mulitple slices of cheese, pickles, lettuce, mayo, ketchup, mustard, mushrooms, etc.) on a bun.  I took this challenge on two separate occasions and finished it both times.  The prize was my name on a plaque on the wall.

*Last Man Standing Chicken Wing Challenge:  This was in college and was between myself and two friends.  We bought several bags of frozen wings on a random Saturday, cooked them in the oven and ate until we could go no more.  Sadly, I lost this one as I only finished 51 wings for second place.  The winner finished 54.

*Bub’s Big Ugly:  I did this one along with wibia and we both finished it.  You can read about it the details of it on their website.  Sadly, this one was pre-blog, so we don’t have any documentation.  Also, this is supposedly the one that Adam Richman did on Man v. Food for the Indianapolis episode that they taped last month.  Apparently his challenge was to eat four of them and judging by a post that I saw on his Twitter page (since removed), I think he accomplished his goal.  The episode will air in August.  As for wibia and my challenge, we got our picture on the wall of Bub’s for one year as our prize.

*Wings Etc. Wall of Flame Challenge:  We actually profiled this one for the blog as wibia and I both did it, so you can read about it here.

*Stanley’s Deli Fat Stanley Challenge:  Again, this one was profiled for the blog, so you can also read about it here.  Sadly, this restaurant has gone out of business, so any future attempts at this challenge by me or anyone else are impossible.

*Wendy’s Spicy Chicken Nugget Challenge:  This one is just one that two friends and myself made up one night while sitting in a bar.  We went to Wendy’s at 2:00 a.m. (LOL), bought one hundred spicy chicken nuggets and bet each other that each of us couldn’t finish thirty of them.  My two competitors did not finish as they only got into the mid twentys, but I did and kept eating to just to see how far I could go.  I eventually made it to fifty and needless to say, I have had zero desire to eat a Wendy’s Chicken Nugget since that day (I used to ALWAYS get them).

I’ve had some other eating related feats but they can’t really be classified as “challenges” as I’ve defined it, so I’ll leave them out.  So, what have you guys done?  Fill us in!  Don’t be shy or embarrassed to share!

Eating Challenges: Ever Done One?

Judging by this blog, one could make the assumption that all we do is eat and it wouldn’t be that far from the truth.  In all honesty though, some of us do have lives, children, etc.  Unfortunately, I do not and end up watching a lot of TV.  Ha!

Okay, maybe I do have a life (somewhat) but I don’t have kids, so I do have time to watch a lot of TV.  And because I like to stay knowledgeable about the “industry”, a lot of these shows revolve around food.  There’s a lot of food-related shows out there (challenge, documentary and educational styled shows) to watch and a lot of channels on which to watch them, so there’s certainly enough to keep you busy.  I watch all kinds of them, but in order to keep this post as brief as possible, here are the ones that are set on my DVR so that I don’t miss them:

Challenge Shows

Dinner: Impossible (Food Network):  I don’t know what it is about this show, but I’m addicted.  Hosted by a goofy British bastard with a previously falsified resume (he actually lost the show for a time because of it) named Robert Irvine, this show puts Robert in situations where he has to come up with a banquet style meal against all obstacles.  Some obstacles include lack of food on hand, lack of cooking equipment, lack of space, lack of time, etc.  Basically, they unknowingly drop him into a seemingly insurmountable situation and somehow he usually triumphs and accomplishes the job of getting the meal prepared.  It may just be the magic of television bending the rules in order to make him win more often than not, but even if they do bend the rules, what he does is pretty darn impressive.  Robert’s a driven, yet engaging personality and I’ll admit that I’ve used a few of his techniques/solutions that he’s come up with on the show when I’ve been cooking in my own kitchen or out in a tailgate lot.

Man v. Food (Travel Channel):  Hosted by Adam Richman, this show revolves around Adam traveling around and eating massive quantities of food in cities across America (thus the reason it is on the Travel Channel).  It’s interesting to see some of the crazy food creations that are out there in America and watching the total goof Richman interact with these people is equally entertaining.  What really makes this show and makes me love it is watching the eating challenges that he takes on at the end of each episode.  Whether it’s spicy chicken wings, 150 oysters, a meter of bratwurst, etc., they are always awesome.  Plus, being the big fan of eating challenges that I am, it is always fun to sit there and wonder if I could defeat some of the challenges.  It’s almost interactive in that respect and if I had to speculate, I think I could complete nearly every single hot food challenge but probably only about 25% of the food quantity challenges.

Food Wars (Travel Channel):  This one is relatively new as it has only been showing for about a month.  Hosted by a very cute Camille Ford, the entire premise of this show is based on going to a particular city, picking out a notable food item from the city (chicken wings in Buffalo, Italian beef sandwiches in Chicago, cheesesteaks in Philadelphia, etc.) and then holding a competition between two of the most famous purveyors of that food item in the city.  The contest includes local “super fans” from each restaurant and local “celebrities” who are blindfolded and then are given a taste of each food item.  The premise of the show is not exactly the most brain busting of all time, but is interesting to see how passionate people are about these foods from their favorite particular place (also sometimes the demographics of the customers from the competing restaurants can be VERY entertaining).  Plus, it’s nice to know about some of these places in case I ever find myself in one of these cities so that I can give the food a shot myself.

Hell’s Kitchen (FOX):  At this point, everyone and their mother knows who Gordon Ramsay is and he’s the host/antagonist in this show.  Matching up teams of aspiring chefs against each other with a grand prize being a job at a “prestigious” restaurant or a restaurant of their own, this one is competition-style reality television at its heart.  It’s over-dramatized, melodramatic and fake (all things that I usually hate), yet I can’t stop watching.  I will admit that in recent years, I find myself caring less about the competitors and the show and more about watching what Ramsay is going to do next.  I love him that much.

Throwdown! with Bobby Flay (Food Network):  I’ll admit that I don’t pay that close of attention to this one at all times, but I do like it.  Ordinarily, I think Bobby Flay is a pompous ass (wibia is in love with him), but on this show he tones it down and actually acts somewhat like a real human being and that makes it watchable.  The premise of this show is that Bobby goes across America and finds a person/people that specialize in a particular food item (cheesecake, fried chicken, apple pie, etc.) and then comes up with a recipe of his own to challenge them in a “throwdown” competition where a winner is declared.  They always use taste as a judging parameter (obviously), but the other parameters sometimes vary from show to show to include such things as creativity, presentation, etc.  It’s not the greatest television ever produced, but it is a fun way to learn about foods that I’ve never heard of and also to see the good, honest, friendly people that make these foods.

Educational Shows

Good Eats (Food Network):  Hosted by Alton Brown, this show is more of a learning show for me than it is anything else.  Granted, Alton is very entertaining and dare I say very funny, but the primary reason I watch this show is to learn about the food trivia, gadgets and recipes.  This show has given me a new appreciation of some foods and has also taught me different uses for foods that I already knew about and for some that I did not know about either.  For that alone, this show is worth watching.  There are other reasons though too and one of them is the fact that this show is just so darn cheesy that it is funny.  The best part is that Alton doesn’t care about hiding it either and even plays up to the cheese factor and that just makes it even better.

Food Tech (History Channel):  I’ll admit that this one is the newest show on my list and the only reason I started watching was because I heard they were going to be profiling my beloved Domino’s Pizza.  I’ve only watched two episodes so far and while this is not the most overly entertaining show, it certainly is informational.  Hosted by a TOTAL TOOL named Bobby Bognar, this show focuses on a particular food item/offering (pizza, ballpark food, Chinese takeout, etc.) and shows you how the foods get from the field/animal to the factory to your mouth.  It’s not the most addicting show and I’m not going to make any specific plans to watch it on its first run, but it is a nice show to have on your DVR when you’ve got an hour to kill and there’s nothing else going on.  This one is strikingly similar to Unwrapped on the Food Network.

Documentary Shows

Kitchen Nightmares (BBC America and FOX):  There’s two different versions of this show that have been produced for British (the original) and American television, but for the sake of brevity, I’ll just group them into both.  On this one, Gordon Ramsay (my boy!) goes around to failing restaurants and takes a week to diagnose their problem, analyze their operations and come up with a plan to turn the restaurant around.  Often times, there’s a lot of drama (real and fake) and a lot of things you couldn’t care less about, but ultimately Ramsay’s overwhelmingly engaging personality carries this show.  When you look past the constant blow-ups on Hell’s Kitchen (he obviously just overreacts to get ratings) and watch him on this show, you can see that he is a legitimately awesome guy that really does care about helping people.  Plus, he’s a lot of fun too.  He’s still driven and abrasive, but it just comes across differently on this show.  That said, given the option between watching the British version and the American version, I would choose the British version every time.  The American version is sensationalized and the British version is just more of a “real” product.

Other Shows (ones that I watch, but don’t necessarily re-arrange my life for or always set my DVR to record)

Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives
Ultimate Recipe Showdown
Giada de Laurentiis (I know she’s only one person, but c’mon, I am a male…)
Unwrapped
The Best Thing I Ever Ate

As you can see, I watch way too much television as it is.  Unfortunately, there’s many others (Food Network mostly) that I will watch if the mood suits me, but these are the ones that I naturally gravitate toward.

So, do you have any favorites that you like to watch and why do you like to watch them?  Any favorite food show related television personalities out there (if anyone says Paula Deen, I’m deleting your comment.  Ha!)?  Let’s get a conversation going and maybe some of us can learn about some shows/personalities that we’ve never heard of and may find appealing.  Comment away!
