Food Truck Review: Spice BoxAuthor: WIBIA | Filed under: Food Reviews, Food Truck, Location: Indianapolis, IN
I have been on a mission to try as many food trucks as I can. The bad part is, otherwise than Scratchtruck, I have been dissapointed in everyone that I have tried. To be honest the limited and focused menu of a food truck should mean that their offerings are nothing short of awesome. It seems to be the opposite these days. So I approached Spice Box with pretty low expectations.
What I Ate: Chicken Tikki Masala; It was ~$8.00 (I really can’t remember, I should really write this down).
Okay, I know what you are thinking, way to venture out wibia. But ya know what, I like Chicken Tikki Masala and that is what sounded good. They have spice wraps and an interesting and vegetarian friendly menu, but it just didn’t sound good at the time. Maybe later.
You know, the Chicken Tikki was pretty good. It is not the best that I have had, but it had a lot of clean flavors with cumin and a touch of cinnamon. The sauce was the perfect consistency. The Naan was decent, but I will cut it some slack for being in a truck. There was a green sauce that was with it that freshened up the deep flavors of the entree.
Would I Buy It Again? Sure. It was actually pretty good. I stopped by the truck one night that I was pretty plowed and had something fried that I loved at the time. I like to think that Spice Box is that consistent line drive hitter that will knock out a home run form time to time. My only compliant is that I think everything is overpriced by about $1.00. However, based on the quality and execution, I am willing to pay a little extra.
