Snooty Fox on Restaurant: Impossible
Author: indianapoliseater | Filed under: Announcements/News, Location: Indianapolis, INWell, it looks like another one of my beloved food shows is profiling another Indianapolis establishment. First, it was Man v. Food, then Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives and now it is Restaurant: Impossible. Robert Irvine is one of my favorite Food Network personalities and although Restaurant: Impossible is a clear rip-off of Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares, it is still a good show. In a nutshell, Robert and his team get two days and $10,000 to makeover a struggling restaurant. That’s the premise of the show.
In tonight’s episode, they’ll be profiling the Snooty Fox. Here’s the description of the episode according to Food Network’s website:
“Robert is racing to Indianapolis, IN to help Snooty Fox, a struggling English pub-style restaurant. It’s been a mainstay in the city for 28-years but because of their aging clientele, it likely won’t last another 8-months. Robert is underwhelmed by the British-influence and overwhelmed by grime and food safety issues. The first thing he does is close the kitchen down. But there are bigger fish (and chips) to fry when the head chef quits with no notice. With two days to get this place back on its feet, Robert kicks into high gear – interviewing new chefs, overhauling the décor and updating the menu. With time quickly running out, trouble with the design keeps everyone wondering if the Snooty Fox is ever going to run again.”
So, if you want to see an old-fashioned English pub-style restaurant get the makeover by Robert and his team, tune into the Food Network tonight at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time.

Snooty Fox is also doing a premier tonight at the restaurant (8:30) with apps, desserts etc. with proceeds going to help charity Second Helpings, which is an awesome local charity.
I’ve been waiting on this ever since I heard he was going to be at the snooty fox.
I randomly turned this on just now and the first thing I thought was – has WIBIA done a review on this place? You never went before the taping then? Are you going to check it out and see how it’s going now?
@ChrisSh: Haven’t been there before, but the possibility does exist that we could go there. No immediate plans to do so though.
The filthy kitchen was such a turnoff. I really hope they can turn it around because I felt for the owner, but I don’t see myself stopping in.
I know this is off topic, but get a review of the new mexican restaurant called Casa Grande! Located by Castleton Square Mall where Max & Ermas use to be! By far the best mexican food of all El Rodeo-Cancun-La Hacienda-Riviera de Maya etc.! Same price too!
I’ve dined there prior – wasn’t memorable to the extent of good or bad. I’d be interested in trying it again (despite the fact I may have dined with that disgusting kitchen).
I’m interested – did anyone go to the premiere party they were having the night of the show? $30 for appetizers and such…
Even after the show’s renovation, I’d be reluctant to dine there – who is to say they’ll maintain a reasonably clean kitchen? And I find it interesting that they haven’t really run with the new menu of Irvine’s… I understand they need to cater to their regulars, but it is just more of a sign that I’m not really sure they “get it”
“Restaurant: Impossible” is based off of “Restaurant Makeover”, a show that started on Food Network Canada in 2005. It really isn’t a ripoff of Ramsey’s show at all.
I watched Restaurant Impossible with great interest and felt like the owners were given a wonderful second chance to make it. But it is so disappointing to read that they have regressed and deleted some of the exciting new menu. Also that service still isn’t good and some menu items are mediocre. Did Brandon stay as the new chef? I wonder if they are keeping the kitchen clean?
Any restaurant owner who has the privilege of having this wonderful show come and help them (especially Robert Irvine) should do everything in their power to listen, adjust, change, and MAKE IT WORK. Otherwise, you deserve what happens down the road. Good luck!
Is Brandon, still head chef?
@diana: I couldn’t tell you. Have never been there.
FYI Snooty Fox is now closed.
I truly enjoyed the show last nite………Indy sure stays on this channel….besides the host is fine
