Review: Arby’s $1 Jr. Buffalo Chicken Sandwich

This is kind of a paid review. Arby’s sent me a gift certificate to try their chicken salad and I have some cash left on it. See, send me a gift certificate and you will get some love on the blog. It’s as easy as that. Just giving my normal “I didn’t totally pay for this disclaimer.”
What I Ate: Jr. Buffalo Chicken Sandwich; $1.
$1 y’all!! That is cheap, but if it tastes like baby diapers, I’d rather keep George in my pocket. The good news is that it wasn’t that bad. The chicken was moist and there was a fair amount of buffalo sauce. The buffalo sauce taste is closer to Frank’s Red Hot than Hooters.
This sandwich is pretty small, but it said Jr. so I wasn’t surprised. Bigger than a slider, but a tiny burger. There’s a little bit of a Napoleon complex going on here. Maybe this sandwich should buy a Yellow Mustang and a t-shirt with a gilded cross on it and it will feel like a big boy.
Would I Buy It Again? Yup. It is the best $1 chicken sandwich in the business. I would’ve like to have a tomato on this, but it was actually pretty honest for $1. I would get this before the McChicken or the horrible Spicy Chickn’ Crisp from BK.

Have you ever had a Spicy McChicken? That and this are my favorite cheap chicken sandwiches to get. I love Arby’s. They are great for young people on a tight budget who want something decent and substantial. I especially love the fact that you can get free Roast Beef sandwiches if you fill out their survey on your reciept.
@Adam: You are joking, right? Arby’s is overpriced, overrated and unless you order off the regular, expensive menu, the portions are small. Arby’s used to be my favorite fast food joint, but honestly, there is nothing positive about them these days. I haven’t been there in over eighteen months and I don’t see myself going anytime soon either.
I am with Adam. With coupons, it is a fair price. The free raost beef after the survey is a good thing as well. Adam, I will give the Spicy McChicken a try at some point.
Yep I’m gonna have to go with indianapoliseater on this one. A regular roast beef is like 4 bucks in my neck of the woods. It should cost about 89 cents considering the quality of the beef loaf. Yes, it is a beef… Loaf… I might try this sandwhich though.
IE, the fact that you have not been there in 18 months says something. They have really changed their game, at least with many of their new FSU. They also send out a buttload of coupons, and have the most diverse value menu IMHO. I agree the Roast Beef can be expensive, but you’ve gotta work the system, yos. Buy a jr. super roast beef and double the meat on that sucker.
Going with WIBIA — I get Arby’s coupons in the mail all the time, and they’re pretty good. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever gone to Arby’s without a coupon…
This must be regional. The Arby’s by me (Madison, WI) doesn’t even have the Jr. Chicken Sandwich on the value menu. That value menu is only 4 items. Looks like I haven’t been missing anything not going there
Try the chicken sandwich at Wendy’s, their chicken patties are always crisp and they taste great. I’d highly recommend it!
