Best of lists are hilarious to me, they should be called “The Majority of People Like Their Places List.” There really is no best; food is not a competition. However, if a restaurant that I like gets a shiny plaque based on my vote, I am all for it. Here are my choices and feel free to post yours. Some categories were challenging to pick a favorite and there were some categories that I didn’t want to pick any of them!
You have one more week to vote.

Romance as a category is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen.
This is where WordPress needs to add a “Like” function to comments/posts like Facebook has. If they had it, I would like the hell out of Show’s comment. LOL.
WAIT – Is there still a Forbidden City open somewhere? I thought they closed in 08?
How is Saigon Market listed as Best Thai? Saigon is in Vietnam. I mean, I love the place, but Vietnamese and Thai are quite different.
@Kevin. Good point and I didn’t think about it that way. I just looked at the list and picked the place that I liked the best. Since I am not a big fan of Thai food and I think Indy has some pretty bad Thai food….I just picked Saigon.
+1 on Show’s cpmment.
@Andi, I thought so too. hmm.
Food is not a competition, but eating is.
surprised to see pizzology, thought the pizza was too burnt and had almost no cheese when i went, overpriced also.
Why is Sun King considered a brew pub? I definitely agree with your Yats, Oakley’s and Capri picks. I’d go with Tiger Lily for Chinese, and Patachou for brunch, probably Broad Ripple Brewpup or Thr3e Wise Men for brewpub. The other categories I really don’t have a clear cut favorite.
@wibia, ya, I was really griping at NUVO for including a Vietnamese place in the Best Thai category.
I love Siam Square. Drunken noodles with fried tofu. Mmmmm…and I’m not a vegetarian…
@Kevin. Siam Square is on my list of places that I am long overdue in giving a shot. I am not a big Thai fan, but I will try the drunken noodles.
@Pat, good question. I am a big fan of the Osris. I liked Tiger Lily, I can see that. What do you usually get at Patachou? I have tried to like it, but have never walked away loving it.
Don’t get me wrong, love Osiris and most of their seasonal IPAs, but I think you need to serve food to be considered a brewpub. My favorite dish at Patachou is the broken yolk sandwich with lox but I’ve also enjoyed some of their omelets.
The very fact that they put Saigon Market in the “Thai” category tells me all I need to know about the worth of this list – ZERO. Zilch.
Besides, Saigon – the restaurant; and Saigon – the market – are two different shops even if they are side-by-side and run by the same folks for both. The additional fact that they can’t even get it right between which is which adds further to their worthlessness.
p.s. Saigon has closed the market as of the end of May and relocated the restaurant to a new place (stand-alone building) on 38th & Georgetown.
