Is it just Indy, or are there a ton of wing joints around now? Wing’s Etc. advertises bigger wings, but otherwise, I am not really sure what there value prop is beyond that. Both IndianapolisEater and I are proud members of their Wall of Flame eating contest. My wife loves wings and I really think that it is her favorite food, which if you knew her, you would not think that was the case. For lunch, wings sounded good and I knew that she would be down.
What I Got: Wings Etc. has lunch specials for $5.99. I went with the half pound jumbo wings which are seven wings and chose curly fries as my side. I tried the Medium sauce on the wings and my wife the Tweener (one step hotter).
I liked the wings quite a bit and found them slightly larger than Buffalo Wild Wings. They are fried with very little/no breading on them. My medium sauce was not very spicy at all, and I would say that it is mild. The Tweener sauce that my wife ordered was both of our favorites. I actually liked it quite a bit and it stuck to the wings better than the medium did.
The curly fries tasted like any other curly fries that I have had, but these were made to order and there were a ton of them. It was one of those days where they just hit the spot.
Would I Buy It Again? Yes. I gave them a No on my first review (different location), but when they have 10+ sauces there are some that I am sure that I won’t like. This was actually pretty good and afforadable as well. I walked away pleasantly surprised.
What made me laugh though is that they say, “Upgrade to Boneless for Free!” Ha. Boneless is a downgrade in my book. It is beyond me why boneless wings are so popular. They are chicken nuggets folks!!

I used to be kind of a wing snob, and would scoff at boneless wings and the people that ate them. But I’ll eat them most of the time now just because they’re less messy, and I don’t really like the fatty skin on real wings all that often. I think I just got burned out on bone-in wings after eating them too often. As far as the taste and quality of the meat though, real wings can’t be beat. And since boneless wings are more expensive just about everywhere, I’d consider the “free upgrade” a pretty good deal. BWW will absolutely empty your wallet on boneless wings. And yeah, I know they’re not technically wings. But if the accepted label is “boneless wings”, then that’s what I’ll call them. They’re just chunks of breast meat, but I know that going into the deal. I mean, people refer to their apartment as their “house” or their SUV as their “car” and nobody gives them any grief over it. Ha ha, sorry. I used to have a friend who was a real jerk over the whole “they’re not real wings” debate.
Dang, now I’m hungry for wings….real or not!
random fact, I was just at Kincaid’s listening to one of the butchers telling this lady ahead of me why wings are so expensive–more than other cuts of chicken because of the huge demand these days for chicken wings from places like this. I thought it was interesting. Probably one of the reasons for all the “boneless” ones.
mmm…wings. Sounds so good! But that would require me to leave the house.. and Best buy is coming to fix my tv. *sigh*

Couldn’t agree more about boneless wings, WIBIA. It’s just mind-boggling that people can’t figure it out. Most of them are even white meat, when real wings are dark.
People can’t figure out what, Show? I’m pretty sure that nobody actually believes that those are genuine wings. If they do, I feel sorry for them!
Adam – You’re giving “people” at large far too much credit. Go take a survey of people and exclude 18-45 year olds. I bet less then 30 percent would realize they are basically chicken fingers.
Well if that’s the case, I’m disappointed! I can’t imagine thinking that boneless wings are even remotely similar to the real deal, what with the dark/white meat contrast and all. Perhaps we should all chip in and put up a billboard and spread the word, lol.
Most chain restaurants vary slightly from location to location. I’ve found that Wings, etc. varies WILDLY from location to location.
Back in high school, my friends and I hit up the Wings on Michigan pretty much weekly for $.45 wing Monday. I hate this place, but love it at the same time.
The debate about boneless against traditional is never ending. I just left a place named buffalo Wings And Rings.
Their boneless is a all white chicken breast cut in half. Always fresh and lightly breaded. Hands down these boneless are the best around. Please let me know what you think.
