Food Obsessions/Quirks: Strange or Otherwise
Author: indianapoliseater | Filed under: Announcements/NewsIf you haven’t figured out from reading my material on the blog so far, I’m going to let you in on something that isn’t really a secret: I’m not exactly sane (wibia would be happy to tell you all the ways since he and I were previously roommates for more than three years of our lives).
Anyway, one of the things that makes me less than sane is I have an absolutely unhealthy obsession with peanut butter. Peanut butter, in moderation, is actually healthy for you but when it comes to me, moderation goes out the window and then it becomes unhealthy because I love the stuff and can’t get enough of it. Peanut butter, especially when mixed with chocolate, is my definition of what heaven must be like.
I saw a statistic on television once (I want to say it was on Unwrapped but it could have been Good Eats) that said that the average American eats five pounds of peanut butter a year. This caused me to laugh quite a bit because when I thought about it, I realized that I ate five pounds PER MONTH! Yes, that is true. I used to go to the store once a month and buy the 80 ounce jars of peanut butter and go through them in one month’s time. Of course I would use the peanut butter for sandwiches, oatmeal, pancakes, desserts (I may make a Food Porn-like post about my homemade Peanut Butter Pie sometime) and other regular things (I never did quite get the peanut butter on a hamburger thing though). Mostly, I would just get a spoon or a fork and eat it directly out of the jar. It got to the point that I was so out of control with the stuff that I decided to stop keeping jars of peanut butter in my house in order to help my cholesterol and my waist line. Yes, that is a true story.
To take it one step further, I’ve also gone searching online for other peanut butter flavored products, including gum. I chew gum constantly (Did you know that chewing gum burns 11 calories per hour?), so if I could mix peanut butter with gum, it would be like a day long walk through the fields of heaven. Alas, I could find no peanut butter flavored gum in the world and I was a very sad man. It actually put a downer on my day because I was willing to spare no expense to have peanut butter gum shipped to my door.
Yes, I love it that much and apparently I’m not alone in my love as there is actually a website dedicated to all things peanut butter called PeanutButterLovers.com. They’ve got recipes, contests, etc. If you like peanut butter, are just curious by nature or are bored and a total loser like me, check it out.
I’m the same way with Italian pasta salad as well. If someone puts it in front of me, I will finish it. I’ll spare you the rest though.
Anyway, the purpose of this post was not to expose me as the crazy person that I am, but instead to find out about some other people’s food obsessions/quirks. Here’s some that I’ve heard of:
**I once dated a girl that said that her favorite thing to do was go to McDonald’s and get a chocolate milkshake and an order of fries (it worked with Wendy’s Frostys too). She would then dip the fries in the chocolate milkshake and eat them both together. This was the first I had ever heard of someone doing this and I thought it was genuinely insane. Yet, as I’ve ventured through the food blogosphere, I’ve come to find out this is actually fairly common because of the salty/sweet mix. Despite this, I still don’t get it.
**I have a friend that will only drink a soda if it is a fountain Coke from McDonald’s. He’s a regular reader of this blog, so I’m “outing” him so to speak, but I’m pretty sure he’ll get over it. His claim was that fountain drinks at McDonald’s tasted different and the only way he was going to drink a soda is if it came from there (he makes special trips just to get them). At first I thought he was nuts, but I came to find out that McDonald’s actually does tweak the syrup/carbonation levels in their fountains to change the standard drink recipe, so they really do taste different and he was right all the long. Go figure.
**Peeps. I’m sure you all know what they are…the neon colored marshmallow flavored treats shaped like little birds that pop up like crazy around Easter. I hate them, but for some reason, many other people love them. I knew a girl in college that would eat them like it was her job and it always grossed me out. Recently, I saw a post on SeriousEats where someone had made a Peeps pizza. Absolutely disgusting.
So, do you have any food obsessions or quirks (I know some of you can’t resist ice cream)? If so, let us know about it in the comment section. I’ll pick a winner of the craziest quirk that I hear and maybe make another post about it later on. I don’t have a prize to give you other than the respect and admiration of your peers, so don’t let the lack of a prize or potential embarrassment stop you from posting your quirk. We may make fun of you, but that should be okay. This blog is an entertainment blog that just happens to focus on food, so we are all here for fun anyway.

My family has an obsession with M&Ms. For me and my siblings (5 of us in all), M&Ms are the ultimate comfort food. At my brother’s house on thanksgiving each table has not a center piece but a bowl of M&Ms. We consider them such a comfort food that none of us would even consider entering a funeral home without M&Ms in our purse or pocket. In fact at my grandfather’s funeral about 4 years ago between the 5 of us, we must of had about 7 or 8 pounds of M&Ms. But we do share.
Hey…you forget to list ketchup on omelets! Someone had to make that joke.
I eat Oreo’s like soup. Big glass, dump 3 in at a time and dig them out with a spoon.
Otherwise, there are not a lot of quirks/obsessions. I am a well balanced eater!
I like to have ketchup with potato chips. Some people find this strange, but hey, aren’t they just really thinly cut, non-waffle waffle fries? Anyways, I’ve got my kids doing it now, so that make me feel good as a parent.
I recently have started to have an obsession for mustard. It is odd because up until about 2-3 months ago I despised the condiment, now I can’t get enough of it. I routinely eat turkey and mustard sandwiches for lunch and it doesnt look like I am going to get sick of it anytime soon.
Some good submissions so far. Hopefully everyone keeps chiming in, because this is fun.
By the way, I wrote this post a few weeks ago and within the past week, I’ve bought a jar of peanut butter and have yet to open it. Maybe writing this post was therapuetic and got me over my addiction! LOL! Just kidding about the getting over the addiction part; I really did buy a jar of peanut butter that is yet to be opened though.
@Bonnie: Good call on M&M’s. They are not my favorite candy (Reese’s Pieces are), but if there is a bowl of them nearby, I won’t stop eating them either. You can’t have just one!
@wibia: I’ll eat Oreos from time to time, but I’m not a huge fan of them. They are just too dry for me. Plus the “creme” is just weird. That said, Oreos in ice cream are a match made in heaven.
@BigRedEater: Good point. I never really thought about it like that, but in a deranged kind of way, it makes perfect sense. Plus, anytime you can add ketchup to something (see the bashing I took for my omelet), you are getting a win/win.
@TACO: Welcome to the mustard world! I’m a BIG mustard lover too and have been since I was a little kid. Now, I use it as a substitute for mayonnaise on sandwiches (it’s zero calories!) and also occasionally mix it in with vegetables (broccoli, spinach, etc.) as a “sauce” that would replace a fatty and high calorie cheese sauce. I’ve never understood why some people just despise it because I am the polar opposite of that.
@ Indianapoliseater: I too also love peanut butter. Only indianapoliseater and eatHSE would know this, but I (and eatHSE) devoured one of eater’s peanut butter pies at one of our tailgates. I couldnt stop.
One of my favorite after work snacks is peanut butter on a bananna. Now, I used to put peanut butter on each bite, I think this violates the moderation policy. Now, I just spread it over the whole bananna. Either way the shot of protein is great when heading to the gym.
I am also a peanut butter fanatic! I don’t know how weird this little snack is, but I love putting peanut butter and grape jelly on saltine crackers. I’ve made a meal of it MANY times, though I know it’s not a nutritious choice. Just thinking about PB&J saltines right now has my mouth watering…
I wouldn’t call it an obsession per se, but I do enjoy bread and butter, or bread dipped in oil. I don’t eat this at home very often, but hot bread at a restuarant is the best! I especially love the focaccia and pesto infused olive oil at Bravo.
Years ago I went on a cruise and everyone asked how I enjoyed the food. My response? It was great because we got rolls and butter with dinner every night!
My grandfather introduced me to butter on saltines. Its still one of my favorites.
I too use a lot of mustard, but have many other “odd habits.” Among them:
Frozen Peas: I will eat an entire bag as if it were a bag of potato chips. No, for real.
Raw Veggies: If you put mustard and raw veggies in front of me, I will eat them until my stomach explodes. Baby carrots are a scarry thing at high speeds headed toward my mouth.
The husk of cheap popped popcorn kernals: With sugar+cinnemon. Often better than the popcorn.
Cut up apples wrapped Deli meats- The best ‘power snack’ in the world.
Micorwave melted cheese on apple slices – The second best ‘power snack’ in the world.
Salads for breakfast. I have a spinach, apple, cucumber, and balsamic every day for breakfast. I also have a tomato and watermelon and parmesan salad for dinner every evening, without fail.
McDonalds Fries: I can only order a small or else I’d be 1000 pounds and broke. Always with 3 ketchup packets and 2 salt packets. Without fail, Tuesdays and Thursdays between 3-5 in the afternoon.
My goodness I have a million more but I don’t want to bore you haha
More great participation. I love it!
@Adam Bomb: I don’t think peanut butter and jelly on saltines is all that weird. It actually sounds good. I do something similar with graham crackers.
@Sarah: I don’t really think that’s an obsession, but that is just an odd taste preference. Although, come to think of it, I was a big fan of the bread and butter sandwiches they used to serve us in elementary school but haven’t had one in years.
@Meg: Never heard of that and it is kind of strange, but not so bad. Doesn’t sound appealing to me, but to each their own I suppose.
@Adam: Okay, you are the absolute leader in the clubhouse so far. The only one that isn’t all that odd is the salad for breakfast one because I could see that one. I have actually done the raw vegetables one within the past couple of nights, so that is not all that bad. The rest of those are off the charts bizarre. The fries one is Rainman-esque, but the frozen peas one is my favorite with the popcorn kernels one a close second. LOL!
@ Meg. My grandfather did the same with saltines and I have tried it. I am just not that much of a butter fan. In fact, we had some bread for dinner last night and I declined butter.
I am obsessed with dipping my food in sauces. I do at absolutely every meal. I have cups of sauces that I keep in the fridge and I make dippable items for every meal. I will dip my food in honey mustard (my favorite), ranch, ketchup, and a special that peanut butter sauce that I make myself. I sometimes incorporate barbeque, blue cheese dressing, and otehr sauces too. I absolutely love dipping my food.
Since I was a little kid (and this is something I have picked up from my mother, who has also loved eating these since childhood), I have always loved to eat frozen raviolis…while still frozen. I have been known to purchase and consume a bag of them without cooking any of them whatsoever.
Another awesome snack – Pepperidge Farm cheddar goldfish with peanutbutter. Sometimes mixed with M&Ms if I happen to have any or if I need a little sugar.
I am a self admited bread whore. I cant get enough of the stuff. I like it plain, with butter, sandwiches, dipped in oil. Pretty much any way I can get bread I will eat it and love it.
When I make a pb and j I always add a layer of butter on the bread. It cuts through the stickiness of the pb and makes it even more delicious. My dad’s mom used to make this for me.
I love potato chip sandwiches. Its mayo on both pieces of white bread with chips piled on then smushed by the other slice of bread. My dad shared with me the love of these.
Dad and I will also eat peanut butter and butter saltines. I generally mix the peanut butter and butter together so it is easier to eat and Im just that lazy. One thing to spread instead of 2.
Everyone wanted homemade pizza one night but I wanted a cheeseburger so I made cheeseburger pizza and it was AMAZING!!! Ketchup as the sauce, then cheese, ground beef, and pickles bake it then when its out of the oven put some mayo and lettuce on it and you have my favorite pizza now!
M and M’s must be sorted by color and eaten 2 at a time. If there is an odd number of a certain color they are placed in another pile and matched up with the other odd balls. it there is still one left over it gets thrown away. I only do it with plain m and ms, the peanut ones get shoved in my mouth in no order what so ever. IDK Im odd.
I know theres more but I cant thing of them right now.
I’m obsessed with beer.
And a big thank you to WIBIA for once again going after Eater’s ridiculous use of ketchup on eggs. Disgusting.
2 recommendations from a fellow peanut butter lover
- Newman O’s with a peanut butter filling… I ordered a case from amazon.com when they were running a special – damn, those things were gooood
- Ben & Jerry’s peanut butter cup ice cream…. PB ice cream with really good PB cups – just finished our 1st pint of it and was it ever good. fwiw a rather alarming nutrition panel, but it is what it is
More good ones.
@Jessica: Not necessarily strange, but a nice quirk nonetheless. My sister actually does the same thing as she’s told me she often orders certain food only for the sauce. I’m somewhat similar in that I sometimes only order fries so that I can have ketchup (LOL, there it is again).
@Oggi: If Adam hadn’t already blown the roof off of this, you would be the leader with that frozen ravioli trick. LOL, that is just odd and I love it.
@Lisa Marie: Butter on peanut butter and jelly…hmmm, I don’t know what to say about that. Although, I had some co-workers basically singing the praises of a grilled peanut butter and jelly recently, so those would be somewhat similar. As for the potato chip sandwich, if you mix it with the right kind of potato chips (I would think plain chips or kettle crunch chips would be best), I can actually see how that would be appetizing. I’m not even going to touch the M&M’s thing.
@Show: If I didn’t know you, I’d have to wonder about you. Since I do know you, all I can do is laugh at that.
@tom: Never heard of Newman O’s, so I’ll have to do a little research. I love peanut butter cup ice cream. Actually, I’ve found these single serving size (roughly 6 ounces) versions of Edy’s ice cream at the store recently and one of the flavors is peanut butter cup and it is outstanding. I would also give a big thumbs up to the cookie dough too. They are cheap (in the $1.00 range) and are a semi-decent way to control your portion sizes/nutrition. Plus, they taste good too.
My sister-in-law introduced me to scrambled eggs with Ranch salad dressing. It sounds bizarre, but it’s quite tasty! She also introduced me to Ramen Noodles (chicken) way overcooked with cottage cheese stirred in (after cooking). I’ve learned to just try the things she eats, because even though they sound gross, they’re always good!
I greatly enjoy vanilla ice cream with frosted flakes on top.
Oh, and my husband does the potato chip sandwich thing — plain white bread, three slices of salami, a slice of American Cheese, yellow mustard, and three more slices of salami. Then Jalepeno Krunchers. YECHHH!!!
@Indinapolis Eater I know its odd but try it sometime the butter is a great addition. And its just regular potato chips. Ive done it with other flavors or sun chips etc before and its just not the same. Kettle cooked are good too though.
@Katy I like Ramen Noodles with either hot dog stirred in, American cheese over the top, an egg cracked and scrambled in, or crutons mixed in (got a 8 yr old loving this one too…I wanted to have some texture and it sounded like it would be decent. Also a lot of Mexican restaurants now have ‘fried’ ice cream that is just frosted flakes over ice cream.
i will not eat sloppy joe’s without peanut butter on each half of the bun.
@Lisa Marie: I have never gotten the infatuation with ranch, but to each their own, I suppose. As for the cottage cheese concoction…ugh. Definitely interesting, but I could not bring myself to eat that one. Cottage cheese is on my own personal do not eat list.
@Bloomy resident: LOL! Like I said, I don’t get the peanut butter/meat combination thing (I tried it again and have a review for a peanut butter burger that I had that will get posted in the next couple of weeks). That said, your quirk is in a strong third place so far behind the legitimate insanity of Adam and Oggi.
Sadly, I have always been a weird/obsessive eater. I once lived on peanut butter out of a jar with a spoon for weeks as a kid. So I understand the PB love.
I also use to love hot dogs& american cheese in a taco shell microwaved til cooked, melted and soft. Really good.
I don’t really like chewing so soup is my thing, burning hot and not too full of stuff. I eat soup for breakfast lunch and dinner. Escarole, onion or barley soup for breakfast are my favorites.
I also love gravy on anything back 30 years ago I would always just get fries with a side of gravy in restaurants and was always look at like I was crazy, now its the norm.. I started something. Better yet is a potato chip in gravy, heaven.
My daughter dips broccoli in ketchup, goldfish in ranch and all meat in gravy than ketchup. She also eats her M&M’s by color cause they taste different??
My son makes pepperoni and hard pretzel sandwiches and dips his bagels in orange juice.
My husband is obsessed with bread, the good on Wonder kind and eats bread sandwiches, a piece of bread between two pieces of bread.
Sadly, that’s just a sample of our quirks. I kinda don’t feel so weird now I see others also have quirks.
I like pickle mayo and ketchup on bread, kind of a veggie BK whopper!
Ive never had peanut butter on a sloppy joe bun, I usually have toast with peanut butter while eating chili. My Dad has always done this so I never thought it was strange…until I thought about it LOL.
I also love grilled peanut butter-banana sandwiches. Its like a desert. I buy big bags of reeses pieces and m&ms and mix them together, it ups the chocolate to peanut butter ratio.
I crumble Snyders jalapeno pretzel bites over every soup or bowl of chlii I eat instead of using saltines..
@Tracy: WOW, you definitely win the award for weirdest family. LOL. Your son might also win the award for weirdest quirk with the bagel in orange juice thing. Incredible.
@Kat: I don’t consider that weird and in all honesty, I think that sounds kind of good.
@Lindsay: I’ve actually done with peanut butter toast sandwiches with chili before thanks to TACO (he’s posted in this chain). I had never done it, but he insisted on it once, so we mixed them together and it was OUTSTANDING. The rest of your stuff, the bananas not withstanding (I don’t like bananas) are actually great ideas. I love the pretzel and chili thing and I might have to do that next time I have chili.
By the way, back to the original point of this post…this post caused me to get a craving and crack open the peanut butter jar this evening. Ten minutes later I had eaten half of it without even realizing what I had done until it was too late. LOL. Told ya!
Whenever I eat PB&J sandwichs, I press down the perimeter of the sandwich, and eat from the outside in
I second the recommendation for the grilled PB & J. Never tried it until a friend recommended it a couple years ago and I loved it!
For regular PB & J, I love to add a layer of potato chips. I’ve done it since I was a kid and still think it’s yummy.
i love pb & j and butterand grilled. it is very tastyy. i also have a weird obbsession with ketchup. i eat on everyythingg! my favortite is ketchup on a baked potatoe…YUMMM. tastess veryy good! ialso like ketchupon my asparagus and broccoli
My wife has told me, on several occasions, that I have an unhealthy relationship with ketchup… It’s not that I put it on anything out of the ordinary (fries, tubular meat, etc), but i think she is more concerned with the amount I use. She has attempted to ration my use in the past, but in the end opted to simply buy stock in Heinz.
Oh, and every time I swim in a pool, I come out craving a pb&j sandwich. Every. Time.
Grew up eating buttered saltines w/ any kind of soup or chili. Yum…crunch a few in the bowl and leave a few to eat on the side along with…
Another wonderful combo is buttered toast dipped in hot chocolate. Some mornings mom would toast a whole loaf of bread for us and we’d just dip bite for bite in our hot chocolate. I still do this.
And a MUST….french toast or hot cakes are never eaten without first smearing a big gob of peanut butter on top and then pour some maple syrup on top. OMG! TO DIE FOR! The peanut butter gets all melty and …ok, i have to go make french toast…RIGHT NOW!
You know, I do ketchup with my potato chips too. I learned it from my dad. He picked up the habit when he was doing his medical residency in Canada, Lay’s makes ketchup flavored potato chips which he used to eat all the time. When he came to America to start his medical practice, there were no ketchup flavored chips to be found so he just dipped chips into ketchup! My grandma in Canada just sent me three bags of the ketchup chips a few weeks ago, I LOVE THEM. I also love dipping my hardboiled eggs into mayonnaise (fat free mayo is the best!). OH and I dip my tortilla chips in milk………
Cold leftovers for breakfast… doesn’t matter if it is steak or salad or even fish. Yum!
wow. that says as much about me as you. we all ( I think) want what we dont have. I love ( or like) peanutbutter. it is usefull and good. like in a toasted english muffin. and dont get me started about peanutbutter and chocolate. mumm, I like… or… or.. I like a small cup of milk before bed. and a peanutbutter and honey, or jam, or chocolate sammich. when its here, in abundance, I sometimes forget it. but if I run out… I get weird. gotta have it… like evaporated milk in cans, or tobacco. no rational explination. all I can say is whatever we dont have, is what we want. like fresh eggs. or bannaas, or tomatoes. a good example, tomatoes. a good example… along about august, they are common as rocks. but in january, shit, I’d pay six bucks for one. like cantelope or watermelon. but i still like chocolate and peanutbutter. I like prime rib and lobster. but if I ate it every day, it would become tiresome. and I think thats why husbands and wives stray, also. not condoning, just saying..sometimes we want what we dont have., but what we need is right in front of us, if we are wise enough to see it. and that is the tough thing. hey.. hamburger is nice you dont miss it till you aint got it. hey, you got a recces cup…
ok, olives. they were rare. the big green ones, with pimentos. I still only eat them at chritsmas. like egg nog at christmas. or deviled eggs, in summer. weird, I know.
I thought I was the only one with this strange obsession with peanut butter. My first and only peanut butter love’s name was Jif. He and I spent everyday together. I’d eat two Pb&j’s for breakfast just for the pea-nutty taste. I used it as a dip for carrots, celery, apples, pretzels, pita chips, raisins, and also as a topping for banana oatmeal. When he would suddenly disappear I would feel helpless, sad, and as though part of me was missing. I’d run to the store to find a replacement right away. I walked to the store just for peanut butter, and only peanut butter. hahaha, the people at the checkout counter started looking at me funny.
Jif and I broke up when I found a new love, Organic peanut butter made with Valencia peanuts. The texture is smooth, slightly sweet, and tastes like freshly roasted peanuts. It’s addicting. This is the really sad part: I go through 3-4 jars of the stuff per month! I no longer care for the buttery taste of peanut butter like Jif. I put peanut butter in and on everything. I love eating out of the jar with a spoon though, and that’s mostly why the jars disappear so fast. I literally feel like crying when it’s gone, and I rush to buy a new jar immediately. It’s totally getting out of hand, and I wonder why i never get tired of it. It’s like CRACK! even though I don’t know what a drug addiction feels like. I just finished a jar yesterday, I wonder how long I can last without buying another one!
@ tom robinson “I like prime rib and lobster. but if I ate it every day, it would become tiresome. and I think thats why husbands and wives stray, also. not condoning, just saying..”
Ha ha…so random. Don’t cheat on your wife and use this analogy
Count me in with the peanut butter addicts, as well as one of those who dips Wendy’s fries in my chocolate frosty. I’ve been doing that since I was a kid(a good 30 years or so), and still do.
I would say I’m obsessed with Texas Pete Hot Sauce. I can drink it right from the bottle and put it on darn near everything. It’s really good mixed with ketchup on a cheeseburger. Of course it makes the best hot wing sauce. Even better than Franks Red hot.
I’m obsessed with tacos and variations of tacos as well. I could eat them every single day and not get tired of them.
PICKLES. sour + cold + crunchy = awesome. i can eat a whole jar sometimes. kimchi is a subcategory of pickles, and adds “spicy” into the equation which is why i can also not get enough of kimchi.
i don’t get peanut butter on hamburgers either, but my fiance made me eat peanut butter sandwiches on white bread with chili, and i was very skeptical at first, but it is delicious!
ketchup on eggs is gross, but tabasco on eggs is no crime whatsoever.
I love Oreo’s dunked in lemonade. Country Time lemonade mix to be exact. The combo of the sweet chocolate crunch dunked in the cold, wet, sour lemonade… well- it rocks! I buy the bag of mini Oreo’s and a bottle of lemonade for road trips…. great combo to keep me awake!
dont feel bad. 5lbs in a month is kinda a lot, but I eat it (peanutbutter) on a toasted engllish muffins for breakfast. on celery. with raisins. watered down and mixed with tabasco as a sauce over roasted/grilled chiciken. at least a 1lb jar every 2 weeks… humm… thats alot… well at least its good for you, and cheap. I used to like cap’tn crunch peanut flavor. don’t even know if they make that anymore. rasin bran or shredded wheat now, or cherios. and I like that. but I still like receces cups and a glass of milk… I feel sorry for kids that have peanut allergies, and their families. really too bad
Ketchup on scrambled eggs is the best!!! I also enjoy peanut butter in chilli and ketchup on my grilled cheese. And I’ve picked up a habit from my mom of adding ketchup to my clam chowder.
My craziest quirk is my 100% devotion to Dr. Pepper. Diet Dr. doesn’t even come close. And I have to have store specific brands with my food. Can’t mix a McDonald’s Dr. Pepper with a Taco Bell order, and vice versa. I’ll take water, or go to a different store to match my Dr. Pepper with my meal.
These are awesome! Thanks for sharing! If any of you guys live in the greater Los Angeles area and are interested in telling your story, get in touch with me! I’m working on a new food docu-series and we’re looking for people who have unusual or quirky food obsessions.. If anyone is interested in hearing more, get in touch with Jessica at KiernanCasting@gmail.com ASAP.
#1 obsession.. resees peices…i like the cups, but the pieces are addictive!.
I also love salsa on my eggs, as well as on my popcorn…but ive been told my strangest taste is chilli over eggs…or chili over salad (wich waffle house USE to have )
don’t get you guys with your ketchup. i eat it strictly on fries, hate it on anything else. hotdogs, burgers, etc. are strictly mustard delivery devices. and none of that fancy dijon stuff either, french’s yellow.
food quirks? i don’t really know if have any. i’ve been adding fried eggs to pretty much everything lately because i’m trying to get some more protein in my diet and, well, fried eggs are pretty darn good. fried eggs on sandwiches, burgers, burritos, steaks. that’s not very weird though.
my wife makes cereal but instead of milk she uses peanut butter. and then she puts it in the microwave. i swear it’s got to be 1000 calories (i bet the ratio of pb to cereal is 1:1) but she doesn’t believe me because she says pb is “healthy.” i guess, but it’s super calorie-dense. i love peanut butter but eating what ends up being like a cup of it would give me a heart attack i think.
