I have been to every almost every Indian lunch buffet north of Lafayette Square, so I feel confident about what I am going to say: this is the best Indian Lunch Buffet in the city. It is not the biggest (India Palace holds that title) however the food is quite addictive.
Lunch Buffet: $6.88, soda, $.95.
Half the buffet is a salad bar and I skipped most of that. The selection is pretty standard: two rices, a few currys, two naans, Chicken Tikki Masala, Palak Paneer, Tandori Chicken and a few others.
The Lamb Sahi Korma was on my plate both trips to the buffet, it was excellent. I found all the dishes to be more flavorful/richer than other places in town.
Would I Buy It Again? Yes, easily. This was my first visit to India Garden and it won’t be my last. Two complaints though:
1. No seafood.
2. The food could be a little hotter or stirred more.
Excellent value and the food was among the best Indian in the city. Taj of India is a safe bet as well, but for my money, it’s India Garden.
Sorry about the pictures, I was right by the window and they had vertical blinds. The second pic is Lamb Sahi Korma and Chicken Tikki Masala. My two favorites.
