Junior’s Most Fabulous Cheesecake
http://www.juniorscheesecake.com/
Junior’s is known to have some of the best cheesecakes in New York City and was voted as the number one cheesecake by New York Magazine. With three New York City locations, getting your hands on Junior’s cheesecake is not always easy. However, Junior’s provides a two day shipping option where you can order a frozen cheesecake to be shipped to you anywhere in the United States in a stay-fresh container packed with dry ice.
What I Got: Apple Crumb Cheesecake $31.95 + Shipping
A slice of this cheesecake starts with a crumbly cinnamon crust that fell apart as I ate the cheesecake. I think it would have held together had I actually gotten a fresh slice in New York. A layer of tart apples sits on the bottom crust covered with the cheesecake itself. On top of the cheesecake was a streusel crumb topping mixed with cream cheese and caramel.
Would I Buy it Again? Yes, without question. This was the best slice of cheesecake I have ever had. Yes, this cheesecake packs 5900 calories per cake but it is the occasional treat like Junior’s that makes food worth eating. Although the cinnamon crust fell apart, it was my favorite part of the cheesecake. If you are in New York, stop by and have a slice or ship one to yourself for a special occasion.

I love cheesecake and while I’m sure it tasted delicious, it sure doesn’t look all that good or all that much like a cheesecake, at least in my opinion.
What is your favorite kind of cheesecake? I would say my favorites are chocolate cheesecake or cherry cheesecake. Mmmm…I’m getting hungry just thinking about them.
I think it looks fantastic, but I agree, it doesn’t look like cheesecake. It looks more like crumb cake.
Hands down regular cherry cheese cake is the best. The rest fail. In fact, I think the attempt at cheesecake diversity is pathetic.
I give EatHSE credit for a unique review.
I would disagree with you that all cheesecake varieties fail. By accident (it was addressed to the previous homeowner), I received a cheesecake sampler wheel at my house around Christmas time several years ago and since I didn’t want the wheel to go to waste, I went ahead and tried it myself.
Like I said, it was several years ago that this happened, so I don’t remember all the varieties, but what I do remember is that there were several of them in there that were absolutely outstanding. Just goes to show that not all cheesecake varieties suck.
I love a good pumpkin cheesecake, and a good raspberry swirl cheesecake is a real treat. The apple crumb cheesecake sounds like it would be great, too.
Ahhh I love Juniors! I live in California, but this past summer I visisted NYC and I bought a slice of their Devils Food Cheesecake cake from their Grand Central Station location. It was chcolate cake with some sort of fudge with the cheesecake layered in between. I didn’t eat it until a few hours later, so it was all soft and creamy and OMG. I’ve been dreaming and craving it ever since. They sell the full cake for $40 online, but I just can’t bear to spend that much on something that is so bad for me.
I probably eventually will order one though.
That looks utterly decadent! Hm… maybe I can get my brother to get me a slice next time he’s in New York because there’s not enough people around to help me polish off one of these.
