What I Got: Cheese Coney Dog $1.69
We’ve discussed Skyline‘s unique brand of chili here before when talking about their Chili 4-way. Here, they put their signature chili on top of a hot dog to create a coney dog.
Depending on your preference, you can get the coney dog topped with cheese, onion, mustard or a combination of all three. I prefer my coney dog with all three.
A lot of different places are offering coney/chili dogs now, but I still think Skyline’s is one of the best. My only complaint is that the hot dog they use is a little small, but everything else about this is perfect. The chili is great and the melted cheese on top just adds another wonderful dimension. I can (and usually do) eat at least two of these in one sitting and I’ve seen many other people do it as well. For whatever reason, these just aren’t as filling as you’d think they’d be.
Would I Buy It Again? Yes, I would. As with my previous visits to Skyline, the prices get under my skin from time to time, but it really is worth it. It’s a guilty pleasure comfort food though and worth the occasional trip.

I don’t know that I’ve ever had any other coney dog from a restaurant, but this has to be the best. I do like their chili, but would be just as happy getting 2-3 of these instead.
Damn you mid-westerners! I actually looked up my closest Skyline the other day…it was like 300 miles away. Looks amazing.
So what is the chili like? There wasn’t really a description… Is it like the sweet coney sauce that’s just meat and sauce, or is it more like chili with beans?
What’s with everyone using such small dogs just because there’s chili over it? Get a big boy out there and cover it with chili.

I noticed our Coney Dog posts were linked together so I thought I would put in my two cents. I lived within walking distance of a Skyline when I lived in Ohio. Always enjoyed it when I went but the chili was a little too sweet for me. Though, I wish I had tried the Coney dog while I was there, that sounds pretty tasty.
Went there a few weeks ago & as luck would have it Skyline had ALL YOU CAN EAT coney dogs for something like $6!
It made for a somewhat sleepy afternoon…

I’m sure these taste good from your review. But the pic looks like someone took yellow cheese Silly-String and molested that dawg with it.
Looks nice, but is it really made from dog, idk i heard stereotypes that chinese eats dogs that scared me.
