When did 16 oz. turn into 12 oz.? I didn’t even notice, shame on you Creamette! (a WIBIA Big Fat NO!!!!!!)

Barilla is still 16 oz.

Watch the sauce too, what is this 15 oz. non-sense?

Anyone who cuts portions on WIBIA is not a friend of mine!
Btw, if you are thinking fresh pasta and live in Indy, it doesn’t get much better than Nicole Taylor’s Pasta and Market. I had some tasty pics, but I can’t find them. Anyway, one of my favorites from the Carmel Farmer’s Market last summer.

Are you sure that they replaced the 16 oz. size with the 12, or was the 16 oz. maybe just not on the shelves when you went? I’ve noticed that they big pasta manufacturers have about a million differents sizes of their products.
I usually utilize the “price per oz.” that you see on many shelf price tags at the stores these days. That breaks it down to a uniform price from brand to brand so that it’s easy to compare. It’s a lot easier than doing math, lol. I know that the two Kroger stores and the Wal-Mart in my city do it this way.
@bomb I am sure dude. The gourmet brands seem to skimp, but no the major ones. Price by ounce is a good tool, I use that too.
Dang, shame on Creamette for trying to fool consumers! I always buy Kroger or Wal-Mart brand pastas myself. The exception is Delallo brand, which Wal-Mart doesn’t carry anymore
I loved that stuff.
like most ice cream… a half gallon is now 48 oz. , for the same price. lets see, reduce each unit by16 oz or 1/4 = 25% increase in revenue, for doing nothing but changing container sizes. reduced shipping weight and frezzer space? hey, love that new math. like 12 oz packs of bacon. or 11.5 oz boxes of cereal. coming soon to a market near you.. 8 eggs for the price of a dozen… the 4 pack of beer or soda… the 12 oz can of pork and beans… and all for the same price! ( well, for a while, anyway)
The 4-pack of soda has already arrived. I saw them on sale at my local Kroger about 10 days ago but didn’t happen to look at the price. Regardless, I was shocked that this is now an option.
I’ve noticed that Newman’s does the same thing with coffee. The standard seems to be 12 oz yet their coffee comes in 10 oz bags for about the same price. I guess that’s how they can afford to donate money to charity.
This happened with a TON of things. For me the biggest let downs were 6 oz tuna going to 5 oz, and $0.99 20-oz Coke became $0.99 16-oz Coke.
Oh, and the way the grocery store meat dept stopped packaging ground beef in 1 lb packages. Everything is 1.25 lbs now (except at Wal-Mart) .. I don’t want .25 lbs extra… it’s useless to me since my recipe is for 1 lb and it just makes me pay more for the darn beef.
