Subway Is Everywhere Too?!

Author: indianapoliseater | Filed under: Announcements/News

Similar to our post about McDonald’s locations from a few weeks ago, some entrepreneurial web site creator has gone about and created a map with all the Subway locations in the United States.

What’s interesting about this one is how concentrated the Subway locations are in the eastern United States while they are relatively under-represented in the western states (especially in Nevada).

Also of note is that the farthest you can go without seeing a Subway is 138 miles (in Nevada), which is more than McDonald’s.  So while Subway may have more actual franchise locations (there are about a million within five square miles of my house), they aren’t anywhere near as evenly distributed as the McDonald’s locations are.

  1. I’m curious what the Starbucks map looks like.

  2. Subway has the most locations out of any quick-serve chain right? Even more than McD’s. That’s a scary map…somewhere Jared is sitting in his underground secret lair with a maniacal laughter that echoes through his chamber of sliced turkey and wheat bread.

  3. I believe that is correct that Subway has more locations than McDonald’s. It’s just odd that they are so concentrated east of the Mississippi River.

Jared lives here in Indianapolis and we run into him periodically. He is a total dope.

WIBIA, EatHSE and I went to Indiana Unversity at the same time as Jared as well (his story became national news when he was at IU), so he’s like a dark cloud that follows us everywhere. LOL.

  4. There are FIVE freaking Subways in my itty bitty town of 15,000 people. It’s ridiculous. They just keep popping up everywhere. 5 Subways and not even 1 Quizno’s :(

  5. Meanwhile, WIBIA is planning a move to central Nevada …

  6. So you guys aren’t part of the Jared fan club? It wasn’t clear;)

I cannot stand the smell of the “Subway onions”– say at the airport at 5 or 6 a.m.

  7. So is your brother!

  8. I have a friend (Show’s brother) that hates Subway strictly because of the smell of the bread. I guess their ingredients have some pretty overpowering aromas.

  9. @ Marvo… I would like to see it as well. At least from 2007 and late 2009. We have had a lot of closings here in Indy.

@Aimee… I don’t mind Jared. I ran into him about 3 years ago at a bar here in Indy. Seemed like a nice guy otherwise than endorsing such shitty food.

    @ Adam… ha ha… Move from Crawfordsville!

@Show. Central Nevada sounds good. Warm, close to Vegas and few Subways. Doesn’t Uncle Eddie live out there as well? I could drink a few beers with him.

Btw, I have kept my promise to never go back to Subway.

I have broke my promise to boycott McD!

  10. Could be the reason there are fewer Subways here in Nevada is that we have Port of Subs…much better than Subway, and since it’s headquartered in Reno, there’s likely to be some home-state favoritism going on as well. They have a few locations in neighboring states as well, but they’re relatively thick on the ground here.
