What I Got: Chili Cheese Burrito – $1.29

Craving more Taco Bell after my last post?!?!?  I could tell…

I didn’t realize the petition and cult following of the CC Burrito until I read the post on Epic Portions.  I looked at the locater and my closest Taco Bell carries them.  Great Success!!! (Borat)  I love burritos and chili, so the combination is right up my alley.

Ok, so I have to be missing something.  There is a site dedicated to bring the burrito back.  I can understand people wanting to bring back the Beef Wennington, but this…really?

Beef chili, cheddar cheese and a tortilla, that is it.  They are not that big, if I am coming off of a bender, I bet that I could eat 6-8 of these around 2:00 am.  I have to admit, it was pretty good.  I enjoyed the taste, but it was very mushy.  I needed some crunch here, maybe the tortilla strips from the Volcano Burrito?  The tortilla to chili ratio should add a little more chili.

Would I Buy It Again? Yes, but not by much.  A good add on, though not very healthy at all.  I wonder if they could Freso this up?  Yeah right!  If you are into Chili Cheese Fritos, you should dig this.  I love chili and hold an annual chili contest.  Indianapolis Eater took first prize last year.  Bogus…

  1. woah, they brought these back? My friend was just talking about how amazing these were just yesterday.

  2. I absolutely LOVE these things, but don’t get them often anymore since they are pretty unhealthy. Still, on the rare occasion I do get them, I don’t regret it.

  3. You lucky dog!!! I saw the post on Epic Portions too and was like “Damn! What a great idea, how come they don’t serve this nationwide.)

You lucky dog you. Too bad they’re not too good. Oh well..I’d just ask for ‘xtra chili!

  4. John from Epic Portions is cursing you right now.

  5. Wow, I have to respectfully disagree with you on this one. The Moors family used to shack up in our van and head to taco bell for 15-20 of these things. They are absolutely delicious and I miss them almost as much as Stone Cold Steve Austin.

  6. Also, I think your local Tbell might be skimping on the ingredients. I usually get much more chili than that.

  7. that was my only complaint. The flavor was good, but the tortilla was gluey and there wasn’t enough chili to offset.

  8. The Chili Cheese Burrito or “Chilito” as it used to be called is one of my favorites from taco bell. In the Cincinnati area, every Taco Bell has the CCB, after all, Cincinnati is the chili capital of the world. So, I was pretty astounded after a recent vacation where I hit the local Taco Bell for a late night 4th meal and asked for a CCB. They did not have them… which surprised me. Upon further research on the interweb, I found that it is left up to the individual franchise to decide certain menu items they will carry. In chili capital of world, every Taco Bell carries the Chili Cheese Burrito… so the next time you are in the Queen City, stop by a local Taco Bell and enjoy a tasty Chili Cheese Burrito.
