Check it out! It has been a while since I have been to a Don Pablo’s, but all you can eat tacos for $6.99?!?! I might have to give this a try (Tuesday nights only).

Don’t know what Don Pablo’s is and doubt there are any near me but if there were I would KILL those tacos tomorrow. I bet I could put down a good 20 or so. Do you know if that includes soft tacos? How many do you think you could eat in a sitting?
Didn’t realize how central/eastern it was. Western expansion has made it only to TX. Check the map http://www.donpablos.com/ Normal chain TexMex like On The Boarder etc… Not sure if soft tacos are included. Not sure how many I can put down, but 10 sounds about right. After seeing your Belly Buster… I am not going toe to toe with you.
Haha
I would take a pass on this if I were you, especially since you recognize the greatness that is Guanajuato II.
I went to Don Pablos over the holidays with some friends who were in town for a bit of nostalgia, since we went there fairly often during high school. Needless to say, our tastes have expanded and left Don Pablos far, far behind.
It was literally the worst food I’d eaten in years.
Take the 6.99 plus tip and go crazy at Taco Bell. Should run you about the same and will taste 20X better.
I don’t usually hate on restaurants of any kind, but this is my only exception.
Love the blog, btw.
Or, better yet, go drop $8.50 at Guanahuato. That’s like 5 tacos, right? Now that’s a challenge.
Too funny, I was thinking that as well. I used to go there in early college, but haven’t been back in a long time. Red Lobster falls into the same category. Used to love it when I was in high school, but I was there a year ago and though… who eats this?!
I like your thinking here…
Sounds like a pretty good deal, but I’ve never been there so I’ll take everyone’s advice and go somewhere else!
I don’t know what the standards are at your local Don Pablos but ours is so filthy I could get a nosh off of the menu.
We tried to give it a chance but after three visits and being yucked out by the bar area, the menus and the bathrooms we final bailed. I wrote to their corporate headquarters [not something I usually do, but the bathrooms? c'mon] and was reward with an apology, a gift card and a sweatshirt.
Nice gesture to be sure, but when we went to use the gift card the restaurant was just as nasty as it was the other times we visited. I simply don’t know how they pack them in. And we have never been overly impressed by the food. Cookie cutter mexican [if that] and served cold by indifferent staff.
Then again – that is our local DPs
We’re on a job in Mount Laurel, NJ and I can tell you we’ve enjoyed everything we’ve tried at the Don Pablos here including the AYCE (all ya can eat) tacos. For those who haven’t been in a while, they must have made some improvements bc I see no room for complaint and this is from a girl who frequents traditional and Tex-Mex often! Also, for those who asked, YOU CAN get soft tacos and the tortillas are fresh made while you watch if you want to stand there. You can get a choice of beef or chicken on your first round and mix it up there after. It could just be this Don Pablos, but I think their pretty good! Don’t waste your money on Taco Bell! That’s for sure! I like taco bell, but here you’ll have quality and quantity for a good price!
