Wings Etc.: “Wall of Flame” Wing Eating Challenge

Author: WIBIA | Filed under: Eating Challenges

After about a week of shit talking between each other, Indianapolis Eater and I strolled into Wings Etc. for lunch to challenge the “Wall of Flame.”  16 Jumbo wings in their hottest Habenero “Wall Sauce” without a drink or anything.  We both have a good tolerance for hot food and love wings so this one was right up our alley.  If you eat them all, you get diarrhea and your pic on the wall.  Wings were $11.99 for 16.

Wings arrived and they smelled spicy right away.  The sauce had the consistency of marinara sauce.  You could see the seeds from the habenero in the sauce and I was thinking…maybe this is not a good idea.  We both jumped in without any reservation, I started falling back because the wings were not only spicy, but temperature hot as well.  I was tempted to take a drink of water on many occasions, but I restrained myself.  Lets go wing by wing.

16 "Wall Sauced" Wings

Wings 1-4, My face was getting red, dealing with the heat and wondering if I was going to make it through. What the hell was I thinking?

Wings 5-8, My face started to tear up I was still struggling.  A wing slipped out of my hand on to Eater’s pants and then on the floor.  I assumed the 5 second rule and ate that one.  I wish this part wasn’t true.

Wings 9-12, I now had snot coming down my nose.  While I was wiping snot around wing 10, IndianapolisEater was finished and posing for his picture.

Wing 9. Wiping tears and snot, close to death.

Wings 13-16, I had to eat these standing up. My face was red, tears in my eye and I was reaching the home stretch.  Nothing was going to stand in my way.

Red Scary Clown Ring around the lips. IndianapolisEater is the winner.

Even though it took 2 days for my stomach to return to normal, it  was great fun!  I got smoked by IndinapolisEater, but I took him to the house last year on eating the Big Ugly!

  1. That is insanity right there.

  2. Congrats!!!! I love spicey food but I don’t think I would ever subject my insides to this. I like enjoy my eats. Good job on the win :)

I’d challenge you to an eating challenge….and win :P

  3. I have to say that these wings were hot, but definitely not the hottest thing I’ve ever had. That’s not to say that this challenge was easy, because it definitely wasn’t. I also fought the urge to reach for my water on several occasions but I managed to plow through. I originally planned on going slow and gloating the entire time, but after tasting how hot they were, I just ate as fast as I possibly could so that I wouldn’t prolong the pain.

The hardest part about the challenge started one hour after completing it and continued for the next 24 hours. But, since this is a family blog, I won’t go into details. Ha!

  4. I think I’ll stick with my breaded tenderloins, thank you very much. :)

  5. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  6. I just did this tonight and completed it and it was more of a struggle to finish since I wasn’t that hungry but am always up for a challenge. It was really hot but def. not the hottest that I ever had. Not to take anything away from this I would say it is in the top 6 spiciest things I ever ate. The server was surprised how well I took it. He told me a lot of people throw in the towel, take a drink or even puke. I think this was fun to accomplish and you can find my picture in the top left corner with my arms up. Good luck to everyone that attempts this.

  7. Nice work and thanks for sharing your story. What location did you go to? I am glad that I checked it off the list, no desire to do it again!

  8. Hey, I was in the Avon location. Right off of Raceway and Rockville.

  10. I was actually disappointed with the challenge. I went in thinking they we’re going to be excruciatingly hot and found them quite tame. BW3′s has very mediocre wings, but I think their blazin’ sauce is actually quite a bit hotter. Best wings in town are still at Keystone Sports Review on the Northside.
