Turkey Minis Combo

What I Ate:  Turkey Minis Combo.  Comes with two turkey mini burgers, a side item (endless fries) and unlimited trips to the Fresh Garden Bar.  $8.99

Miniburgers are becoming all the rage these days it seems and apparently Ruby Tuesday has joined the fray as well.  They offer their mini burgers in the standard beef variety or in the turkey variety.  I obviously sided with the Turkey kind.  The burgers come topped with lettuce, tomato, pickle, garlic mayonnaise (I removed the mayo and substituted yellow mustard for nutritional purposes) and are served on a toasted bun.

The turkey patties on these burgers were slightly dry, but that is what you have to expect when dealing with turkey and especially patties this small.  It has been my experience that you rarely get a moist turkey patty in anything.  The toppings were freshly cut, so that added a fresh and “healthy” flavor to the burgers.

According to the nutritional chart of these burgers, they were a combined 500ish calories so they are not as healthy as you might think.  By removing the mayo, I probably sawed off about more than  100 calories combined (according to the standard nutritional value of mayo), so there were some savings there and these weren’t as unhealthy as one might think.  I just wish I had substituted some vegetables for the fries.

Would I Buy It Again?  Yes. I would absolutely do this again.  The flavor of the burgers was quite good and the quantity of the food that you receive for $8.99 is pretty much unlimited.  The fries are endless and the Fresh Garden Bar (an OUTSTANDING garden bar, by the way) is as much as you can eat.  If you are hungry, you are definitely getting a bang for your buck here.

Additional Rambling:  In all honesty, I don’t know how Ruby Tuesday doesn’t lose money on this deal.  I guess they are counting on people feeling guilty about how much they eat and not going back and ordering more fries or hitting the salad bar again.  This seriously is one of the better lunch deals that I’ve seen out there.

  1. Is it strange to really like the Turkey Burger Minis and hate the real beef Burger Minis? That’s how I feel on the subject when it comes to Ruby Tuesday.

  2. Seriously! Maybe it’s a loss-leader? Did your company order the most expensive steak on the menu? :)

I love me some Ruby Tuesday’s, I go only for the Fresh Garden Bar, I absolutely love it. It’s probably the best salad bar that is marketed as just an additional “bar”. Sadly there is no RTs near me….and damn the Food Network for showing me there constant new ads for all their good grub…Ruby’s and Sonics for that matter.

  3. No, I went with my brother and he ordered the same thing as me. They definitely did not make money on our table.

  4. Our nearest Sonic is 18 miles away. We have so few of them here…it is kind of a waste of marketing $$$

  5. I think Ruby’s has the best salad bar going. It’s always fresh and ice cold. Yum!

  6. I hear they do that because it’s cheaper than only advertising in their markets. They can do a national spot for less and even advertise to people who haven’t heard of them.

  7. The turkey burger taste like an $3.00 artificial piece of fake meat.
