Review: Roselli's Pizza

Carmel, IN 46032
Headline: Northside Sausage Fest (pun intended) offers a solid lunch buffet.
Strip mall pizza joint that has a separate room with a simulated mural of Wrigley Field’s bleachers. Not sure if I would pay homage to a stadium that houses such mediocrity. Strike 1 (pun intended again).
What I ate: Lunch Pizza Buffet
Price: $9.00 even, includes drink and tax is figured in there. Easy pricing structure, I dig it.
2 slices Pepperoni
3 slices Sausage
1 Slice Mushroom
4 Slices Sausage and Pepperoni
1 Breadstick
Probably about 2,000 calories. Then again, 2,000 calories for $9 bucks, not a bad deal. I didn’t see any Supreme or BBQ pizza today, but that is usually rotated on the buffet. I did see my arch enemy of pizza today, The Hawaiian Pizza. Whatever hippie came up with this nonsense needs to go back to Ben and Jerry’s and stick to ice cream.
Their deep dish is another story. I know Chicago style pizza and folks, this is ain’t it! If you are a Chicago transplant, this is not the Chicago pizza joint you want it to be.
Would I but it Again: Yes. Recommended. Good pizza and as much as you want. Buffets are always a tight balance of quantity vs. quality and this is a good one.

I didn’t know this place existed. I’ll have to give it a try.
The pizza at Roselli’s is good. It’s something about the sauce that keeps me going back. The pizza is extremely greasy though (as you can see in the picture).
On a Nancy’s note, I had their pizza a few weeks ago and they’ve slipped. Still pretty decent, but not nearly as good as it used to be. Of course, I forgot to take a picture and write a review…
Ehhhh…..
We don’t do lunch buffets for a reason! We only want you to have the best quality pie at all times. Come out here and I’ll show you
I’ve never had their buffet but I do order delivery from them occasionally. Their thin crust pizza is decent, although far from great in my opinion, but their salad with chicken is surprisingly good. I think they might bake the chicken in the pizza over, which gives it a great flavor, to the point of not even needing dressing on the salad. Give it a try next time. By the way, love the blog. Keep it up!
The boys talked me into going here for lunch today. I enjoy sitting on their patio.
I agree with indianapoliseater…it’s the chunky sauce that makes the pies taste so good.
I can’t understand why we don’t have a great Chicago style pizza place here, considering our proximity.
Technically, Indianapolis has two Chicago-style pizza places. The aforementioned Nancy’s (used to be excellent, still decent) and also Pizzeria Uno (only had it once, wasn’t particularly impressed).
Uno’s Stinks and sorry to hear that Nancy’s quality has slipped.
@ Bear: This place works because we are without a NY Pizza by the slice joint. If you want a quick slice, this does the trick. It is usualyl pretty busy at lunch, so the pizzas are oven hot. There are so many bad pizza buffet and this is one of the few good ones.
@ JR: Welcome and thanks for the compliment. Good to know people enjoy what we are doing. Good tip on the chicken salad, I will give that a try.
@ Kaygee: Did you go to Roselli’s today or Nancy’s? I didn’t think that Nancy’s has a patio? Either way, I agree with you. Not sure why we can get a Chicago Syle Pizza place here in Indy. I have lived here for about 10 years and I still can’t figure out why certain restaurants work or don’t in this city.
Without a NY pizza-by-the-slice joint??? Ouch…go to Giorgio’s down by the circle. Best pizza in Indy in my book. NY style, run by seemingly Italian New Yorkers.
Went to Roselli’s — I work/live on the NW side (haven’t been to Nancy’s, but hope to check it out). Roselli’s has a “patio” that is fully closed in the winter and they open up a few garage-type doors for a covered patio feel when it’s nice. It wasn’t quite the al fresco dining experience I was hoping for, but the deep dish with chunky tomato sauce made up for it.
I think that I may have saw you there on Friday. There was a table of guys and one woman… ha. the first time that I had Roselli’s, I thought that it was ok. I went again with a group of friends and now I crave it and have been going there about once a month for the last 2 years.
