Just when I thought that I knew everything about my wife…
We were talking to a few friends and I was rambling on about trying to avoid reviewing items that everyone has had, like a McDonald’s Big Mac. She then says, “I have never had a Big Mac before!” Amazing.
Today, I get this e-mail today form her. She decided to write it in the WIBIA blog format?! I got a chuckle out of this and I think that you might too.
“Ok, I finally succumbed to peer and family pressure to eat one of these things. Two all beef patties, special, sauce….you know the song. Well, fifteen minutes later and my first #1 Combo down. Seriously, people like these things!?!?! The cheese was not even melted, the special sauce got all over my hands, and I felt the consistency was a bit on the mushy side-maybe it is all the bread and sauce.
WIBIA: No.
Seriously honey, I will NEVER have one of these again. This was my last trip to McDonald’s for a very very very long time. I think my tummy just grew an additional two inches…..”

I’ve never had a Big Mac either. I wonder if it is a woman thing. They look way too big to even take a bite of.
The first time I’d ever even had a double burger was when I went to Five Guys (I think you should always try the default setting when eating a food for the first time and double is theirs). Double burgers just seem crazy big to me, I wonder if most women feel the same?
Haha, too funny!
I think they do the cheese unmelted thing on purpose. I actually like it that way…although melted is fine too.
I honestly think I’ve had less than 3 Big Macs in my entire life. I don’t hate them with the strength of a thousand burning suns like your wife does…but I just never seem to order it. Also I don’t go to McD’s that often. I’m the anti-Don Gorske.
I’ve only had about two in my life, so I’m not a huge Big Mac guy either. I’d rather get a double cheeseburger or even a regular cheeseburger before I got a Big Mac. Nothing against them, just a matter of personal preference.
I’m actually a fan of the big mac. I get a craving about twice a year and nothing else will cure it!
I am with you Rick. I get a craving once in a while for one and it seems to be about 2-3 times a year. Same thing with Long John Silvers. I eat it and they think ” I am not going to do that for another 6 months!”
The special sauce is not all that special along with the funky head lettuce. The Big Mac is one I avoid at all costs.
