At Home: BBQ Chicken Pizza

Author: WIBIA | Filed under: At Home

So I don’t eat out everyday, but there is a review almost everyday, do the math there!  I gotta keep this blog fresh so you crazy kids keep coming back.

I love to cook and I am just as good at cooking as I am running this kick ass blog (stop rolling your eyes).   So occasionally we are going to add a segment for you at home cooks.

This week, how to make an awesome BBQ Chicken Pizza at home for $3.19!
Pizza Crust:  Kroger Brand.   $1.25 (on sale)
1/2 grilled chicken breast.  $3.55 for 3 breast package ($1.99 lb) = $.59
Sweet Baby Rays BBQ: $.50 worth (50% of a bottle on sale)
1/4 Red Onion:  $.20 worth of a 6 lb. bag from Costco
2 Hand full of Mexican Blend cheese:  $.50 from Costco
Green Onion:  About $.15 worth.

The Kroger Brand Pizza crust better than I thought that it would be.  This fed my preggo wife and I no problem and was pretty tasty.  Give this recession buster a try and tell me what you think.

Dig It!

  1. Awesome. Good call on the Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce. Love a good BBQ Chicken Pizza.

  2. OK, I just can’t bring myself to eat BBQ pizza. Can’t do it.

  3. Man, if you ever come out my way I’ll make you up one of our delicious BBQ Chicken pizzas….BBQ Sauce, Chicken, Onion, Mozzarella, Gouda, green onions & cilantro….mmmmmmmm. Even Rick would give it a shot :P

  4. I saw it on your menu Bear and it looks killer. It made me wonder if you have dry ice shipping. Gouda and cilantro, nice touch. That might bump it over $3.20 though! I was going for cheap and quick that night.

  5. Haha. I gotta work on that long distance delivery :)

Do you ever come out to the Bay Area?

  6. I was just there 2 months ago (check out my SF Eating Guide) and didn’t know about you. I will probably make it back out there in a year or two and the Belly Buster is on my short list. I have family there, so I will send them your way.

  8. The pizza looks delicious. Your pizza-making venture is proof that it’s not tough or expensive to make great food at home!

I’ve been doing a lot of at-home pizzas lately, in the style of yours. It’s more fun that a simple frozen pizza, and so much more customizable!

  9. Yummmy! Nice job. I love to cook and I LOVE a bargain. We forever have these type of ingredients on hand and make our own pizza crust – so, uh….I think we are having this for dinner tonight.

    Thanks! :D
