What I Ate:     Large Spaghetti with Meatballs $5.99; Double slice of pepperoni pizza ~$3.49

Fazoli’s used to be a real favorite of mine, but this is my first time back in two years.  I had a meatball and I’m pretty lazy so I decided to just buy them from a restaurant as opposed to making them.

Fazoli’s spaghetti and meatballs are just that.  The spaghetti is decent (you have to be a real moron to screw up spaghetti), but the meatballs were an abomination.  They were the size and tasted of a Superball, which considering the price, I’d expect a little more than that. They were hard and really lacked flavor.  To top it all off, the sauce was plain, sweet (I like sweet sauces and for me to say something is to sweet is saying something) and very runny.

Since I was trying to work off a hangover by overeating and Fazoli’s took my favorite item off the menu (Italian pasta salad), I decided I’d also grab a double slice of pepperoni pizza.  I’m ordinarily a sausage man (leave your sophomoric jokes at home), but it wasn’t available. I can say that this pizza could be classified as mediocre at best in terms of taste and for roughly $3.49 for a double slice, it was vastly overpriced.  The crust was too thick and the cheese had hardened from the pizza being out too long.  They weren’t skimpy with the pepperoni, which is a positive, but overall this was a poor decision on my part to order it and their part to serve it.

Would I Buy It Again? No.  Thank God I had a $2 off coupon or else I might have had my entire day ruined.

Additional Rambling:  Let’s put it this way, I was so put off by the taste of this food that I got off my lazy ass and made my own spaghetti with meat sauce that night just to get the taste of their crappy food out of my mouth.  I would just use your own favorite spaghetti recipe and make it at home.  There are not really any other worthy “fast” Italian food joints in town.
