Review: Arby's All-American RoastBurger

A huge marketing campaign so I had to try it. Touting that it is not greasy or fried, this seemed to be a nice alternative to your standard burger.

What I ate: All American RoastBurger.  Curly Fires and medium Diet Coke (I know)
$6.07 (with tax)

The Roast Burger is on what appears to be a new bun for Arby’s.  Not sesame, not onion, but a split top bun.  It didn’t subtract or add to the sandwich.  The All American Roast Burger comes with Roasted Beef, Onion, Lettuce, Tomato, Pickle, Ketchup, Mustard and Special Sauce (tastes exactly like mayo).   Note, no cheese.

The inside of the sandwich had the condiments on the bottom, beef on the top.  I know I might sound picky, but I didn’t like this.  Eat a taco with the ingredients rearranged and it doesn’t taste the same, trust me.

Since it is not fried and greasy like the add said, I would think that this would be healthier…

Arby’s RoastBurger
Calories 407
Fat grams 17
Serving weight (207g. = 7.3 OZ)

McDonals Big N’ Tasty:
Calories 460
Fat Grams 24
Serving weight 7.2 oz

It’s a close race, but the RoastBurger does win.

Would I Buy It Again? Yes, I would buy it again, but I probably wont.  I liked it, but if I am going to Arby’s, you can’t beat the Beef and Cheddar.  If I have a burger craving, I am not sure this would be my first choice.

Additional Ramblings:
I applaud Arby’s on thinking outside the box, they are doing that well lately.   With 21 combo meals on the menu, Arby’s offers a large amount of variety.   I have a love hate relationship with Arby’s, usually inconsistent on service and food, but this visit made me want to go back.

For the review, I visited the Arby’s at 64th and Keystone in Indianapolis.  The staff was loud but friendly.  The place was clean, the food was fresh and I have no reservations in returning to this location.

  2. What happened to the reuben sandwich.
We miss it very much and actually quit going to Arby’s for a while because we enjoyed the market sandwichs and especcially the reuben very much. Hope they will come back soon.

  3. Arby’s recently discontinued offering the All American. That was the only sandwich I really liked at Arby’s and have now stopped going there because of that. I hope they bring it back.
